He passed away following three months of hospice care at his Palm Springs home, said David Scott, his boyfriend of nearly 20 years. A public viewing will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wiefels Palm Springs Mortuary, 690 Vella Road, and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday ahead of funeral services. Burial will take place at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City. Lemley retired in January 2018 following shoulder surgery that affected his balance and caused him to fall. He battled dementia and pancreatic cancer over the past year and recently dealt with dehydration and a loss of appetite. It all happened late in the long life of a man who was a workaholic and made sure to be at Billy Reed's every day until his retirement. Pine Mountain home surrounded by family. She was born to the late Harold and Lucille Hudgins Price on January 28, 1939, in Cherokee County and grew up in the Key and Goshen Communities. After graduating high school, she received an associate degree from Birmingham Business College and worked as a bookkeeper until she retired. Geri was a dedicated and faithful Christian and loved directing music, singing, and playing the piano. She enjoyed bird watching, growing orchids, and traveling. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years Kenneth Branham; son Jeff (Staci) Branham; granddaughter Morgan (Sam) Estes; grandson Jake Branham; sister Fay Studdard; stepmother Reba Price; brothers-in-law Bill Hawkins and Joe (Joanne) Branham; many nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and many special friends.Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by sister-in-law Eleanor Hawkins.The family welcomed visitors at Lemley Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Geri lay in state at Locust Fork Baptist Church on Friday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with her service beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside service followed at Pleasant Mount Cemetery in the Pine Mountain Community. Bro. Rufus Harris and Bro. Glenn Bynum officiated the services.
